Benefits of Pilates

My Pilates Hub

What are the benefits of Pilates?

Whether you’re performing Pilates on a Reformer bed or a mat, the benefits are endless!

These benefits include: core strength, posture, balance, longer and leaner muscles, endurance, flexibility, improved joint mobility, spinal mobility, mental wellbeing and general body awareness to create a better physical and mental version of yourself.

Like with any exercise, the more you practise, the better and stronger you will become.

Two sessions a week is recommended for maximum benefit, this could be blended with a group mat session, 1-2-1 mat or a Reformer 1-2-1.

Rehabilitation through Pilates based exercise

What is the difference between Reformer and Mat-based Pilates?

Reformer Pilates focuses on core strength and proper muscle engagement on a bed with pulleys and tension cables.  We perform closed-chain exercises due to this resistance: low-impact, high resistance.

Mat-based Pilates is open chain, as you have nothing but yourself to resist against. Mat-based Pilates is fantastic in its own right, but the results are slower.

Reformer Pilates provides faster results; one session of Reformer Pilates is worth 6 of those Mat-based.
Booking 10 sessions will improve your body goal and alleviate pain quickly.

We have only one body, so it’s definitely worth investing in.
